Runway 6L-24R Continuous Closure for Construction Activities 


Start: November 18, 2024 at 0030 PDT

Complete: November 21, 2024 at 1230 PDT

(Pacific Daylight Time)

 
Runway 6L-24R will be closed for 84 continuous hours starting on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 0030 PDT, and will be reopened Thursday November 21, 2024 at 1230 PDT. 
 
This runway closure is required to support construction activities for several projects including North Airfield Exit Taxiways (NAET) Project, LADWP Receiving Station X Project, MSC South Project, Airport Pavement Management Assessment Project, and LAWA Facilities Maintenance activities. 
 
Runways 6R-24L, 7L-25R, and 7R-25L will remain open, with the exception of nightly Runway 6R-24L closures 0030-0630 PDT.  
 
Airlines that operate ADG VI type aircraft (A380 and B747-8) can expect Runway 24L and Runway 25L for arrivals and departures while Runway 6L-24R is closed.  
 
Please forward this LAX Operations Advisory to flight planning dispatchers, pilots, and airline staff.
Notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs) will be issued 72 hours prior to the closure. Please plan flight operations accordingly and check current NOTAMs at https://notams.aim.faa.gov/notamSearch for current airfield operating conditions.
