Runway 6R-24L Continuous Closure

for Construction Activities 


Start: December 9, 2024 at 0030 PST

Finish: December 11, 2024 at 1630 PST

(Pacific Standard Time)

 
Runway 6R-24L will be closed for 64 continuous hours starting on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 0030 PST and is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 1630 PST. 
 
There are several taxiway closures associated with this continuous runway closure. The taxiway closures are as follows:
  • Taxiway E closed between Taxiways D7 and E6
  • Taxiways E6, E7, E8 and E10 closed between Runway 6R-24L and Taxiway E
  • Taxiways S, T and U closed between Runway 6L-24R and Taxiway E
  • Please note that Runway 6R-24L will not be available for back taxi  
Runways 6L-24R, 7L-25R, and 7R-25L will remain open, with the exception of nightly Runway 6L-24R closures 0030-0630 PST, for scheduled maintenance.  Please plan for all overnight arrivals and departures to be routed via the South Complex, Runways 7L-25R and 7R-25L.   
  
Airlines that operate ADG VI type aircraft (A380 and B747-8) can expect Runway 25L for arrivals and departures while Runway 6R-24L is closed. 
 
The runway and taxiway closures are required to support construction activities on Runway 6R-24L for the North Airfield Exit Taxiways (NAET) Project.  
 
Please forward this LAX Operations Advisory to flight planning dispatchers, pilots, and airline staff.
Notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs) will be issued 72 hours prior to the closure. Please plan flight operations accordingly and check current NOTAMs at https://notams.aim.faa.gov/notamSearch for current airfield operating conditions.
