TRAVEL TIPS FOR ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (ONT) USERS

(Ontario, California -- November 20, 2000) With the November and December holiday season approaching, travelers using Ontario International Airport (ONT) should plan ahead as passenger traffic is expected to increase twofold on the days before Thanksgiving and Christmas.

To avoid possible delays due to traffic, parking, check-in procedures, and security screening, travelers are reminded to:

· Buy airline tickets in advance to avoid waiting in line at the ticket counters.

· Arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before departure time.

· Label all luggage inside and outside. This will make it easier to locate lost luggage.

· Carry photo identification, which is required during check-in.

· Check in at curbside.

· Do not leave vehicles unattended at the curbside. Vehicles left unattended are subject to being cited and towed.

· Bring unwrapped gifts as carry-ons and check in wrapped gifts with luggage. If possible, do not bring wrapped packages to the airport.

"Passengers are encouraged to use Remote Lots A or F," said Airport Manager Jens Rivera. " These lots cost only $6 per day and free airport shuttle service is available to transport passengers to the terminals."

Short-term parking in Lots 2 and 4 cost $21 per day and long-term parking in these lots cost $10 per day. Both short-term and long-term parking in Lot 3 cost $7 per day.

ONT is located 40 miles east of Los Angeles and is owned and operated by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), a department of the City of Los Angeles. LAWA also owns and operates Los Angeles International, Van Nuys and Palmdale Regional Airports. ONT currently handles 6.5 million passengers a year.
