ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT PICKS UP ADDITIONAL DAILY SERVICE TO ATLANTA

Ontario, California --- (May 1, 2000) Delta Airlines offers an additional daily round-trip flight from Atlanta, Georgia to Ontario International Airport (ONT) starting May 1. Delta Airlines – ONT’s third largest carrier – now has a total of eight flights per day at ONT.

Delta will operate a 186-seat Boeing 757 aircraft at ONT’s Terminal 2. The daily nonstop flights are scheduled to depart from Atlanta at 12:30 p.m., arriving at ONT at 2:15 p.m. From ONT, flights will depart daily at 3:15 p.m., arriving at Atlanta at 10:23 p.m.

"Delta’s additional service to Atlanta is indicative of ONT’s gradual growth," said Jens Rivera, ONT’s airport manager. "In March, Southwest Airlines added a daily flight to Sacramento and began new daily service to Nashville. In June, Air Canada will begin service to Toronto. The new and additional flights are steadily coming."

Ten major airlines currently serve ONT including Alaska, Delta, Northwest, TWA, United and United Express in Terminal 2, and American, America West, Continental and Southwest in Terminal 4. In 1998, ONT served 6.4 million passengers. Last year, 6.5 million passengers flew through the medium-hub airport.

"Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), the Los Angeles city department which owns and operates ONT, Los Angeles International, Van Nuys, and Palmdale Airports, has prepared ONT to play a significant role in the air transportation system as a major and domestic and international gateway to Southern California," said Rivera.

ONT is located approximately 35 miles east of Los Angeles in the City of Ontario. The airport is conveniently situated in Southern California’s Inland Empire region encompassing San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.
