NOISE COMPLAINT FORM NOW AVAILABLE ON-LINE FOR PUBLIC USE
(Los Angeles, California -- December 1, 2001) In an effort to enhance communication and cooperation between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and noise-impacted communities to achieve noise reduction whenever possible, residents may now go on-line to register aircraft-related noise complaints. This new service is in addition to the long-established LAX Noise Complaint Hotline at (310) 64-NOISE (646-6473).
The Noise Complaint Form is user friendly and can be found on the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Internet website at www.lawa.org, click on "LAX," then click on "Noise Management."
The form allows residents to provide their name, address, phone number, date and time of the noise event. A pull-down menu makes it easy to select the type of noise that occurred, ranging from loud noise to low flying. Residents also can indicate the airline and type of aircraft that caused the noise, if known, as well as additional comments and concerns.
In announcing the new on-line complaint form, LAWA Deputy Executive Director for Environmental Affairs Roger Johnson said, "We are pleased to be able to offer this additional avenue of communication between LAX and our neighbors. Residents can file their complaints electronically at any time."
To transmit the form, one selects "Submit Form" and it is sent directly
