LAX’S SEPULVEDA TUNNEL CONSTRUCTION REQUIRES PARTIAL TRAFFIC LANE CLOSURES ON SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHTS NOVEMBER 4-8 AND 11-15
(Los Angeles, CA - November 2, 2001) Traffic lanes in the Sepulveda Tunnel, adjacent to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), will be partially closed at night in both directions from November 4 to 8 and 11 to 15 for construction work.
Changeable message signs will be placed on major streets leading to the Sepulveda Tunnel in both directions to alert motorists to closures and detours.
One lane in each direction will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and a second additional lane will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic detours will be as follows:
- The upper level airport exit to southbound Sepulveda Boulevard will be closed on those nights from 8 p.m. to 5 am.
- The lower level airport exit to southbound Sepulveda Boulevard will be closed on those nights from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Traffic will be detoured onto eastbound Century Blvd., to southbound Aviation Blvd., to westbound Imperial Highway, and then back to southbound Sepulveda Boulevard.
