Six More Public Hearings on LAX Master Plan to be Held Beginning September 11
(Los Angeles, California -- September 7, 2001) The proposed Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Master Plan and accompanying environmental documentation will be the subject of six additional public hearings around the region, beginning Tuesday, September 11, with a hearing at the Airtel Plaza Hotel in Van Nuys.
"After his election, Mayor James Hahn asked that six more public hearings be held on the LAX Master Plan in addition to the three held in June, and we are pleased to do so jointly with the Federal Aviation Administration," said Lydia H. Kennard, executive director of Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA). LAWA is the city agency that operates LAX and three other airports in the region: Ontario International, Palmdale Regional and Van Nuys.
In addition to the September 11 Van Nuys hearing from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Concorde Ballroom of the Airtel Plaza, 7277 Valjean Avenue, additional hearings will be held at the following locations:

No decisions about the Master Plan will be made at the hearings. Individuals who cannot attend the public hearings can submit their views in writing to the Federal Aviation Administration or LAWA through 5 p.m. PDT, September 24, 2001.
