LAX EMPLOYEE RECEIVES INGLEWOOD ROTARY HIGHEST HONOR FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE

(Inglewood, California -- June 29, 2001) Diana M. Sanchez has made a name for herself in the Inglewood community both professionally and personally. As a principal public relations representative in the Community Relations Division of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Sanchez is responsible for managing programs that benefit the community, such as the Junior and High School Aviation Careers Education (ACE) Academies, LAX Speakers Bureau, and the development of an educational outreach program for students. Personally, she has spent numerous hours volunteering her time and making various contributions to the community. Such tireless efforts were recently recognized by the Rotary Club of Inglewood as it bestowed upon her its 2000-2001 Rotarian of the Year ward.

" Since Diana has joined the club almost two years ago, she has made significant contributions to the club by serving as an officer and donating her time to better serve the community of Inglewood," said 2000-2001 Rotary president Captain Hampton Cantrell of the Inglewood Police Department. "She has demonstrated the determination to uphold and further the principles and ideas of the Rotary to provide humanitarian service and help build goodwill and peace in the community."

Diana remains committed as she serves her second term as secretary for the 2001-2002 year. "When I joined the Rotary to represent Los Angeles International Airport, I was impressed with the club's history of assisting those in need," said Diana. "When I participate in Rotary projects, it gives me such a great feeling of satisfaction to know that I am making a difference."

Over the years, Diana has participated in events such as painting the fences of the local YMCA, painting a local senior citizens home, and organizing various community events. Although Diana is not a resident of Inglewood, she continues to support the community by serving as vice president on the board of directors for the Inglewood/Airport Area Chamber of Commerce.
