Day Highlights Ridesharing Options During Kick-Off of Busy Summer Travel Season

 

WHAT : Green Ride Day at LAX - spotlights "green" rideshare options that let travelers skip the hassle of driving and parking at the airport, while helping the environment. Featured "green" rides to LAX include:
  • Door-to-door shuttle vans for a ride in a clean, alternative fuel vehicle
  • Metro Rail Green Line to the Aviation Boulevard Station for a free LAX shuttle bus straight to your airline terminal
  • Express FlyAway Bus from Van Nuys Airport
The first 2001 ridesharing travelers who arrive at LAX on Friday, May 25 will receive a sweet reward from Krispy Kreme - coupons for a free doughnut and coffee - plus a chance to win the prize of a summer party for 20 friends at Encounter Restaurant in LAX's Theme Building.

 

 

WHY : Nearly 800,000 travelers will pass through LAX over Memorial Day Weekend. Travelers who take "green" rides to the airport can save money, eliminate the hassle of driving and parking, while they help reduce vehicle congestion and harmful emissions.

 

WHEN : Friday, May 25, 2001 - 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

 

WHERE : Terminal Seven, Upper/Departure level of LAX.
