PALMDALE REGIONAL AIRPORT HOSTS ANNUAL HOLIDAY EVENT FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN

 

WHAT: Palmdale Regional Airport (PMD) will sponsor and host its annual holiday community event at Manzanita Elementary School for more than 1,000 school children. The event will feature a special visit from Santa Claus who will fly in on a Los Angeles County Sheriff's helicopter, welcome remarks from local public officials, gifts handed out to all the children, and performances by the Manzanita Elementary School choir, Highland High School marching band, Antelope Valley College and Palmdale High School cheerleaders, and community mascots (Kaboom, Aqua Dog, H.T. Bee, Chuck E. Cheese, Cycler and Red Robin). The event will also feature a "Holiday Tribute to the Armed Forces" in which all the students will participate and an aircraft fly-by from Edwards Air Force Base.

PMD is one of four airports owned and operated by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), a City of Los Angeles department. The other three airports are Los Angeles International, Ontario International and Van Nuys.
