MARK MASSMAN JOINS LAWA AS DEPUTY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF PROJECT & FACILITIES DEVELOPMENT

(Los Angeles, California -- October 19, 2004) Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has announced the appointment of Mark Massman as Deputy Executive Director of Project and Facilities Development. He will be responsible for overseeing completion of engineering, design and construction of all LAWA capital project programs, including facilities planning and special projects of airport tenants.

Massman will manage the conceptual design of airside, landside and terminal facilities, road systems, parking, signage, curb usage, runways and taxiways at LAWA's four airports. He will oversee through managers and consultants, the progress of various airport planning, design and construction projects.

Massman comes to LAWA from Bechtel Infrastructure Corporation where he worked for over 26 years. He has extensive experience in the management and implementation of major transportation programs, including numerous key airport, rail and highway projects. During his tenure with Bechtel, he managed and directed hundreds of simultaneous projects at multiple sites, both within the United States and abroad.

Massman directed an integrated, multi-disciplined joint venture staff in the development and implementation of the $4.8 billion Miami International Airport Capital Improvement Program. This project included the construction of new terminals and concourses, new runways and taxiways, the extension of upper and lower level roadways, an automated people mover, and other related projects.

Massman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Irvine; a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from California State University, Fullerton; and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California at Los Angeles.
