LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS NAMES JEFF FITCH DEPUTY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE

 (Los Angeles, California – February 28, 2008)  Jeff Fitch has been appointed to the permanent position of Deputy Executive Director of Operations and Maintenance for Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), a position he has held on an interim basis since early January.

“Jeff Fitch was chosen following a competitive selection from a pool of other highly-qualified individuals,” said LAWA Executive Director Gina Marie Lindsey when making the announcement.

As head of Operations and Maintenance, Fitch is responsible for public safety and security and airside, terminal and landside operations at all four LAWA airports, as well as the Construction and Maintenance Division.

Fitch has extensive background in the aviation and airport industries. He holds a Master of Aeronautical Science degree from Embry-RiddleAeronauticalUniversity, and while in the U.S. Air Force served as Deputy Commander for Operations at Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota.

Following his military career in 1989, Fitch joined Sea-Tac (Wash.) InternationalAirport as general manager of Aeronautical and Terminal Operations, and served as its business manager for the Airfield Line of Business, manager of the ConstructionImpactCenter, and director of Public Safety and Security prior to his retirement in August 2007.

LAWA is the Los AngelesCity department that owns and operates four Southern California Airports: Los Angeles International (LAX), LA/Ontario International (ONT), LA/Palmdale Regional (PMD) and Van Nuys (VNY).
