PETALS: NEW FLOWER SHOP OPENS AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

(Los Angeles, California – September 23, 2009)  Travel retailer Hudson Group opens Petals – a new flower shop – at Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX) in the passenger meet and greet area of Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) featuring flowers grown in Southern California.

The flowers are provided by a local florist based five miles from the airport and include an assortment of roses in various colors (singles, triples and half dozens), carnations in a variety of hues, bouquets in small, medium and large size, and seasonal flowers and arrangements.  The 36-foot kiosk is open daily from 7 a.m. to midnight.

“There is just no nicer way to be welcomed to LAX than with a bouquet of fresh, locally grown flowers or perhaps just a single, perfect red rose,” said Gina Marie Lindsey, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Executive Director.  “I think Hudson has delivered admirably.”

“Fresh product is delivered to the store daily and kept under refrigeration,” said Freddie Molina, Hudson Regional Vice President for LAX.  “All associates at Petals, including managers, are trained by the florist on the care and presentation of flowers to ensure that customers are completely satisfied with their purchases.”

Los Angeles World Airports is the City of Los Angeles department that owns and operates a system of three airports: Los Angeles International (LAX), LA/Ontario International (ONT), and Van Nuys Airport (VNY).  LAX is the sixth busiest airport internationally and the third busiest in the United States.

Hudson Group is a duty-paid travel retailer, a wholly-owned subsidiary of international duty-free travel retailer Dufry AG (DUFN) of Basel, Switzerland.  It operates more than 500 newsstands, bookstores, cafes and premier specialty retail shops in 70 airports and transportation terminals in the United States and Canada.  The combined Dufry/Hudson entity oversees over 1,000 stores in 41 countries and 137 airports and terminals.  For more information, visit www.hudsongroup.com
