FIRM SELECTED TO RESTORE, OPERATE AND MAINTAIN WESTCHESTER GOLF COURSE NEAR LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTS

Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners awarded today a 10-year lease to Westchester Golf Partners LLC (WGP), calling for the restoration of Westchester Golf Course to its original 18 holes, as well as its operation and maintenance.

WGP will invest $2.1 million for the restoration project and will be required to complete the restoration within 180 days after Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) obtains required approvals from the City of Los Angeles and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which entail federal and state environmental reviews and compliance to permit the restoration development project.  The additional holes will be developed on 23 acres of vacant land owned by LAWA, immediately east of the southern half of the existing golf course and north of Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX).

Airport officials said golfers could be playing the entire 18 holes of golf early next year, if City of Los Angeles and FAA approvals follow the current schedule.

Westchester Golf Course, located at 6900 Manchester Boulevard, was constructed in the mid-1960s as an executive golf course, offering important community recreational benefits, as well as serving as a sound buffer for LAX operations.  It is one of the most popular of Los Angeles’ public courses.  The three southern-most holes were removed in 1993 to provide land    to constructWestchester Parkway.

Westchester Golf Partners LLC is a recently formed entity with limited assets.  WGP consists of National Golf Properties LLC, David G. Price Westchester Golf LLC and Community Golf Partners LLC.

Under terms of the lease, Westchester Golf Partners will contract with

American Golf Corporation – which has operated the Westchester Golf Course since

1965 -- to restore the three holes and to manage the daily golf course operations.
