FEBRUARY ISSUE OF LAX CONNECTION E-NEWSLETTER NOW AVAILABLE

  (L os Angeles, California – February 28, 2011) The February issue of LAX Connection E-newsletter is now available online at http://www.lawa.org/connectionLAX.aspx The newsletter provides information to the public and the travel-tourism industry about Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) passenger services and new air service.

           This month’s issue features: LAX Connection reader survey; LAX kicks off Volunteer Information Professionals (VIP) Program; Frontier Airlines begins nonstop LAX-Omaha service; Turkish Airlines launches LAX-Istanbul service on March 3; Singapore Airlines launches Airbus A380 service from LAX on March 27; Iberia to inaugurate only U.S. West Coast nonstop service to Madrid on March 28; Spirit Airlines begins nonstop LAX-ORD service on April 1; and JetBlue to start Fort Lauderdale service to LAX on May 11.

            Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the seventh busiest airport in the world, offering more than 565 daily flights to 81 destinations in the U.S. and over 1,000 weekly nonstop flights to 65 international destinations on over 75 carriers.  LAX is part of a system of three Southern California airports – along with LA/Ontario International and Van Nuys general aviation – that are owned and operated by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), a department of the City of Los Angeles.
