LAX’s Southbound Sepulveda Boulevard Exits to Close Temporarily for Repairs

(Los Angeles, California – January 10, 2011) Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) today announced the temporary closure of ramp exits to southbound Sepulveda Blvd. on both the Upper Departures and Lower Arrivals Levels.  The closures will take effect during the evenings of January 11, 12 and 13 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The closure is due to resurfacing of asphalt in those areas.  Motorists trying to access Southbound Sepulveda and the eastbound I -105 can do so by taking Century Boulevard west to southbound Aviation Boulevard to reach the Imperial onramp.

The sidewalk just north of Little Century Blvd. (the street adjacent to Park 1 just before Terminal 1) will also be resurfaced.  This will require the full closure of northbound Sky Way, which is the lower level intersection just before getting to Terminal 1.  The return road from Center Way to Sky Way will also be closed. Vehicles that need to return to the airport can continue on Center Way past the Clifton A. Moore Administration Building and return on the road behind that building.  Little Century Blvd. will also be closed west of the egress from Little Century to World Way North.  This work will be done on January 13 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

LAX is the seventh busiest airport in the world, offering more than 565 daily flights to 81 destinations in the U.S. and over 1,000 weekly nonstop flights to 65 international destinations on over 75 carriers.  LAX is part of a system of three Southern California airports – along with LA/Ontario International and Van Nuys general aviation – that are owned and operated by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), a department of the City of Los Angeles.
