AUGUST ISSUE OF LAX CONNECTION E-NEWSLETTER NOW AVAILABLE

The newsletter provides information to the public and the travel-tourism industry about Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) passenger services and new air service.
This month’s issue features news on passenger volume rising at LAX during the first half of 2011 ; LAX FlyAway® bus service increasing fares to $10 at Westwood location; Delta Airlines now operating LAX-Oakland service; Turkish Airlines adding a fifth daily flight to Ataturk (IST) beginning Aug. 31; Air China adding a second nonstop daily flight to Beijing Sept. 1; American Airlines adding nonstop service from LAX to Fort Lauderdale (FFL) Nov. 17; and American Eagle starting flights to Aspen, Colorado Dec. 15.
LAX is the seventh busiest airport in the world and third in the United States, offering more than 565 daily flights to 81 domestic cities and over 1,000 weekly nonstop flights to 65 international destinations on over 75 carriers. In 2010, LAX served over 59 million passengers processed over 1.9 million tons of air cargo valued at nearly $77 billion, and handled 575,835 aircraft operations (landings and takeoffs).
