LAX CONDITIONS: SATURDAY, JULY 16, 2011, 9 P.M.

Airport officials at LAX report there have been no traffic, airline or ground transportation issues today.  Airport businesses report no problems with workers reporting to work on time.   Ridership on the Metro Rail Green Line into LAX is up 10 to 15 percent.  Ridership levels on the LAX FlyAway®nonstop bus service between the airport and the Van Nuys and Union Station terminals are slightly higher than normal.  Ridership levels on the FlyAway® service from Westwood and Irvine Station are low.  Shared-ride transportation such as door-to-door shuttle vans and long-distance buses are also reporting slightly higher bookings.  Many hotels around LAX are heavily booked this weekend, with many anecdotal reports of passengers staying near the airport the night before their flights.

Passengers are encouraged to PLAN AHEAD, monitor real-time traffic before heading out to the airport, and take shared-ride transportation to/from LAX.
