Most flights between LAX and Tokyo/Narita or Tokyo/Haneda airports are resuming today. Airport officials anticipate remaining airlines will return to normal operations on Sunday. Passengers to Japan are advised to check with their airlines (websites or reservations phone) on the status of their flights. This is the FINAL update. Following is today's flight schedule:

Following is an update on flights to Tokyo/Narita and Tokyo/Haneda airports for TODAY, following the re-opening of those two airports a short while ago. The following two airlines reported they will operate flights that were announced earlier as cancelled, due to high demand from their passengers to "return home." Other airlines at LAX are waiting until they receive assurances that if they operate their Tokyo flights, that passengers will be able to leave the airports. Again, ALL passengers to Japan are advised to check with their airlines (websites or reservations phone) on the status of their flights.

Following are flight cancellations at LAX for TODAY in the aftermath of an 8.9 earthquake that struck Japan about 2:46 pm Japan local time. The following inbound and outbound flights at LAX from Tokyo (Narita and Haneda airports)are impacted today. Travelers are advised to contact their airlines (website or reservations number) for the most up-to-date information on flight delays and cancellations. There are little to no passengers in the affected terminals, as airlines report they notified passengers.
