FOUR AIRLINES TO CHANGE TERMINALS AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AS PART OF CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM

Two Airlines Also Complete Re-branding Programs

            (Los Angeles, California – March 16, 2012)  Four airlines will change terminals this month and next at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in conjunction with the airport’s capital improvements program.  Two airlines also completed re-branding programs recently.

            Airline relocations are as follows:

·         Effective March 16, Spirit Airlines moves from Terminal 6 to Terminal 3,

·         Effective March 20, Great Lakes Airlines moves from Terminal 6 to Terminal 7,

·         Effective March 20, Alaska Airlines moves from Terminal 3 to Terminal 6; The Alaska Airlines move follows completion of a $271-million renovation that increased lobby space and installed customer friendly check-in kiosks, bag-check stations and a behind-the-scenes checked-luggage security screening system.  New boarding gates and airline lounges are also included.

·         Effective April (date to be announced) AirTran Airways is scheduled to move from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1

           Airline mergers and changes have resulted in airline re-branding.  VAustralia is now named Virgin Australia.  The re-branding of Continental Airlines merger with United Airlines is now complete at LAX.  The Continental Airlines name is no longer used.
