FOUR NEW AIRPORT POLICE RECRUITS GRADUATE FROM LAPD ACADEMY

 

(Los Angeles, California – January 27, 2012)  Four new police recruits joined the ranks of Los Angeles Airport Police on January 27, 2012, following their graduation from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Academy Class of 08-11 at Elysian Park. 

            The new officers are A-Ramond Smith, son of proud Los Angeles Airport Police Officer Eleanor J. Traylor, Bonita Hernandez, Eulises Guzman and Pedro Preciado. They will be sworn in by Airport Police Chief Michael T. Hyams. Also attending the ceremony will be Arif Alikhan, the Los Angeles World Airports Deputy Executive Director of Law Enforcement and Homeland Security, Assistant Airport Police Chief Brian A. Walker, Airport Police Captain Carolyn Smith, and a host of other Airport Police personnel. 

            The Los Angeles Airport Police Division is the fourth largest law enforcement agency in

Los Angeles County, with more than 1,100 law enforcement, security and staff personnel. 

Airport Police is a division of Los Angeles World Airports, the City department that owns and operates three airports in Southern California:  Los Angeles International, LA/Ontario International and Van Nuys (general aviation).
