-- TRAFFIC ADVISORY --
CONGESTION EXPECTED SATURDAY, JUNE 22 , AT LAX ON UPPER LEVEL ROADWAY DUE TO NEW TOM BRADLEY INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL PUBLIC PREVIEW
Airport officials advise motorists dropping off passengers at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013, should expect some delays on the Upper/Departures Level roadway due to expected traffic congestion related to the planned LAX Appreciation Day community preview of the New Tom Bradley International Terminal. Motorists should allow more driving time or use the Lower/Arrivals Level (if also not congested). The all-day special event also may cause congestion in the area around LAX Economy Parking Lot C, near Jenny Avenue and 96th Street in Westchester. Sidewalks on the Upper/Departures Level in front of the Tom Bradley International Terminal also are expected to be congested as Appreciation Day ticket-holders unload from and wait for specially designated shuttle buses that will transport ticket-holders to/from a parking lot. Pedestrians should be advised that the sidewalks near the terminal also are expected to be crowded, as preview ticket-holders wait for specially designated shuttle buses transporting them to/from a non-public parking lot. Saturday’s LAX Appreciation Day is expected to attract some 12,000 people, who reserved free tickets in advance, to get a sneak peek of the facility before it finishes construction and becomes operational later this year. No more tickets are available.
