AIRPORT REVENUE NEWS ANNOUNCES LINDSEY AS DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR IN LARGE AIRPORTS CATEGORY
Airport Revenue News has chosen Gina Marie Lindsey, executive director of Los Angeles World Airports, as its Director of the Year in the large airports category.
Lindsey has three airports under her purview: Los Angeles International (LAX), LA/Ontario International (ONT) and Van Nuys (VNY). She has been in her position since June 2007.
"Under Gina Marie Lindsey's leadership, an improvement of LAX has been set in motion, beginning with the new Tom Bradley International Terminal," says Ramon Lo, editorial director at ARN. "For this and her many other accomplishments, we at ARN are honored to celebrate her."
Prior to coming to LAWA, Lindsey was executive vice president of McBee Strategic Consulting LLC, a government relations and aviation consulting firm in Washington, D.C. Her airport career also includes being managing director of Seattle-Tacoma International (SEA) and director of aviation for Ted Stevens Anchorage International (ANC). Before managing airports, she worked for the Alaska Department of Transportation on surface transportation issues.
Lindsey has served on the Airports Council International World Board and the Airport Cooperative Research Board under the National Academy of Sciences, was the first female chair of Airports Council International-North America and chaired the Federal Aviation Administration Management Advisory Council.
“Receiving the designation of Director of the Year from Airport Revenue News is the honor of a lifetime,” says Lindsey. “But I couldn’t have done this alone. I share this accomplishment with the thousands of staff and crew members who work every day to ensure the operations and experience at each of LAWA’s three airports exceeds standards.”
ARN will feature Lindsey in the upcoming December 2014/January 2015 year-end double-issue, for which she will be interviewed and appear on the cover. She will be presented this award at the ARN Awards Show on the final night of the ARN 2015 Revenue Conference & Exhibition, March 8-11, at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego. LAX, the sixth-busiest airport in the world serving nearly 66 million guests in 2022, is owned and operated by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), a proprietary, revenue-generating department of the City of Los Angeles that also governs Van Nuys Airport (VNY). As the international gateway to the Southern California region, LAX and its partners are dedicated to meeting global airport standards for customer satisfaction, safety, regional economic leadership, organizational performance and sustainability.
To better serve the millions of domestic and international guests that travel through LAX each year, the airport is undergoing a multi-billion-dollar capital improvement program to modernize its entire campus. Initiatives underway include an Automated People Mover, a Consolidated Rental Car Facility and two projects that will each add over one million square feet to the airport's existing property: Terminal 9 and Concourse 0.
