REVISED LA/ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT YEAR-TO-DATE PASSENGER VOLUME

REVISED LA/ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT YEAR-TO-DATE PASSENGER VOLUME

(Ontario, California – November 3 , 2014)   Passenger numbers at LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT) rose 3.74 percent from January 2014 through September 2014, compared to the same period last year. ONT airlines served 3,062.268 travelers compared to 2,951.876 travelers during the same period in 2013. Passenger numbers were up 8.39% for the month of September, the largest increase this year.

International traffic continues  to grow with  International carriers, AeroMexico and Volaris, serving 64,494 passengers, a 77.63 percent increase over the same period in 2013.  Both provide a total of seven nonstop flights each week between ONT and Guadalajara, Mexico.

“The positive change in traffic started earlier this year and appears to be on a good path for the rest of 2014.  While airline outreach efforts continue, we also know that airline decisions on service levels are driven by demand, local market strength, and the airlines’ goal of protecting profitability on routes currently served,”  said ONT’s airport manager, Jess Romo .  We hope local and regional travelers will continue to support available service at ONT.”

ONT is located in the Inland Empire, approximately 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles in the center of Southern California. It is a medium-hub, full-service airport with direct commercial jet service to 14 major U.S. cities and connecting service to many domestic and international destinations. There are approximately 60 daily flights offered by 8 air carriers.
