BOARD OF AIRPORT COMMISSIONERS APPROVES NEW FLYAWAY® BUS SERVICE FOR SANTA MONICA AND HOLLYWOOD
(Los Angeles, California – June 16, 2014) Two new low-cost FlyAway® bus routes for Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will be established in Santa Monica and Hollywood later this year, due to the approval today by the Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners of an amended contract between Corinthian Ground Transportation and Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), the City department that owns and operates LAX.
The FlyAway® buses will provide direct service to and from each of the LAX terminals.
The FlyAway® service at Santa Monica buses will be non-stop to LAX, picking up passengers on the east side of Main Street north of Pico Boulevard at the Santa Monica Civic Center. Anticipated start date for this service is July 15, 2014.
The FlyAway® stop for Hollywood will be located on the east side of Vine Street one-half block south of Hollywood Boulevard. The Hollywood service is expected to begin in mid-September 2014. The FlyAway® bus from Hollywood will make one stop in both directions at the La Brea Station of the Metro Expo Light Rail Line.
One-way fares for both FlyAway® bus routes will be $8.
Airport staff projects first-year operating costs for the service in Santa Monica will be $730,000 and $665,000 for Hollywood.
These two join the four FlyAway® locations already in existence: Expo/La Brea, Union Station, Van Nuys, and Westwood.

www.lawa.aero/FlyAway.LAX, the sixth-busiest airport in the world serving nearly 66 million guests in 2022, is owned and operated by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), a proprietary, revenue-generating department of the City of Los Angeles that also governs Van Nuys Airport (VNY). As the international gateway to the Southern California region, LAX and its partners are dedicated to meeting global airport standards for customer satisfaction, safety, regional economic leadership, organizational performance and sustainability.
To better serve the millions of domestic and international guests that travel through LAX each year, the airport is undergoing a multi-billion-dollar capital improvement program to modernize its entire campus. Initiatives underway include an Automated People Mover, a Consolidated Rental Car Facility and two projects that will each add over one million square feet to the airport's existing property: Terminal 9 and Concourse 0.
