(Ontario, California – January 27, 2015 ) Passenger numbers at LA/OntarioInternational Airport (ONT) rose nearly 4% in 2014. ONT airlines served 4,127,278 travelers compared to 3,971,136 in 2013. International traffic rose nearly 58% with International carriers, AeroMexico and Volaris, serving 90,731 passengers compared to 57,473 passengers in 2013.
“We were pleased to see an increase in passenger numbers throughout 2014 and will continue to keep the airport in a competitive position into 2015,” said Jess Romo, Airport Manager. “International traffic was up well over 50 percent, which shows the growing significance of air service provided by our two Mexican carriers.”
ONT is located in the Inland Empire, approximately 35 miles from downtown Los Angeles in the center of Southern California. It is a medium-hub, full-service airport with commercial service to 14 major U.S. cities and through service to many international destinations.
