LA/ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT PARKING LOT 4 UNDER CONSTRUCTION FROM NOVEMBER 9 THROUGH JANUARY 2016
LA/Ontario International Airport Parking Lot 4 Under Construction from November 9 through January 2016
(Ontario, California – Nov. 7, 2015) LA/Ontario International Airport's (ONT) parking Lot 4 construction and parking equipment upgrade project will begin Nov. 9 and is scheduled for completion in January 2016. Left and right lane entrances will be blocked alternately in phases during construction and parking lot exit times may be delayed during this period.
Directional and informational signs and traffic control devices will be in place to inform customers of entrance points and parking space availability for Lot 4. The signs will read: PARKING LOT 4 UNDER CONSTRUCTION - DELAYED EXITS 11/9/15-1/20/16 - OVERLOW PARKING AVAILABLE IN LOT 2. Courtesy trams will be available during peak volume times and patrol lots to ensure customers can get to the front of Terminal 4 quickly. Parking ambassadors at Lot 4 side entrances and Terminal 4 will also advise customers to proceed to Lot 2 when Lot 4 or Lot 5 are full.
“Since these activities are happening during the holiday travel season, we highly advise our customers to plan ahead and give themselves plenty of time to find parking," said Jess Romo, ONT’s airport manager. “In addition to parking ambassadors giving verbal directions to customers, we will provide customers with FAQ sheets at the Information Booths in Terminals 2 and 4, and post them at bus shelters."
The upgraded parking system will include enhancements designed to improve customer parking experience such as: express exit lanes that accept cash/credit card payments; pay station machines inside the terminals where customers can pre-pay their parking fees before proceeding to the parking lots; space count system and electronic sign boards that will inform customers available number of parking spaces or when the parking lot is ‘Full’; license plate recognition (LPR) technology that captures vehicles’ plate numbers for revenue collection efficiency; and intercom communication devices that customers can use for assistance.
“The new enhancements will be effective and efficient for our customers,” said Romo. “They will have more payment options and find it easier to navigate ONT’s parking lots.”
