(Ontario, California – October 27, 2015) Passenger traffic at LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT) was up 1.64% in September. ONT airlines served 341,089 travelers compared to 335,589 travelers in September 2014.

“September reflects continued passenger traffic growth in 2015,” said Jess Romo, Airport Manager.  "We remain pleased with this trend and look forward to a strong finish in 2015. This, along with strong and sustained cargo growth, is a reflection of the airline industry’s improved performance nationally and internationally." 

International traffic is maintaining a vigorous percentage growth, reflecting demand for the Mexican markets. AeroMexico and Volaris served 7,811 passengers, a 6.68% increase over September 2014. Their scheduled service is expected to remain strong through the year.

ONT is located in the Inland Empire, approximately 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles in the center of Southern California. It is a medium-hub, full-service airport with direct commercial jet service to 15 major U.S. cities and connecting service to many domestic and international destinations. There are approximately 62 daily departures offered by 7 air carriers.
