LA/ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT APRIL PASSENGER VOLUME UP 3.95%
(Ontario, California – May 29, 2015 ) Passenger activity at LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT) was up 3.95% in April. ONT airlines served 353,362 travelers compared to 339,927 travelers in April 2014.
“This year shows increased demand as reflected in our monthly numbers,” said Jess Romo, Airport Manager. “We are pleased with the traveling public's response to airline service offerings at ONT.”
International traffic continues to grow with International carriers, AeroMexico and Volaris, serving 11,714 passengers, a 74.19% percent increase over April 2014. Both provide a total of 11 nonstop flights each week between ONT and Mexico.AeroMexico offers eight flights a week, four to Mexico City and four to Guadalajara. Volaris offers three flights a week to Guadalajara. Beginning in June, Volaris will add a fourth weekly flight and will operate six weekly flights in July and Augustto meet summer demand.
“AeroMexico began new flights to Mexico City in April which is helping with the International traffic,” said Romo. “We hope International travelers will continueto support these routes.”
ONT is located in the Inland Empire, approximately 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles in the center of Southern California.
