SOUTHWEST AIRLINES ADDS ADDITIONAL NONSTOP FLIGHT AT LA/ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Southwest Airlines Adds Additional Nonstop Flight at LA/Ontario International Airport
(Ontario, California – February 18, 2016) Southwest Airlines will offer additional service between LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT) and Portland, Oregon beginning August 7. The new service comes with a promotional introductory fare through Feb. 26. Travelers should contact Southwest Airlines for details. “It’s great news that service from ONT to Portland is available, and Southwest Airlines is filling a need for travelers,” said Jess Romo, airport manager. “We’re confident that this will be a popular and successful destination from Ontario.” The announcement of daily nonstop service between Ontario and Portland is the first new domestic service added by Southwest Airlines since 2010 at ONT when Southwest began offering nonstop service to both Chicago Midway and Denver, Colorado. Southwest Airlines is ONT’s biggest carrier and accounts for more than 40 percent of ONT passenger traffic. ONT is located in the Inland Empire, approximately 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles in the center of Southern California. It is a medium-hub, full-service airport with direct commercial jet service to 15 major U.S. cities and connecting service to many domestic and international destinations. There are approximately 64 daily departures offered by 7 air carriers.
