RE-PAVING OF ALLEYWAY TO IMPACT SOME AMERICAN AND DELTA FLIGHTS; PASSENGERS ADVISED TO ARRIVE AT GATES 60 MINUTES BEFORE FLIGHT

(Los Angeles, California – October 28, 2016) Maintenance of a key alleyway between Terminals 4 and 5 will result in the temporary closure of a combined 11 terminal gates for American Airlines and Delta Air Lines from 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, October 29 through noon on Wednesday, November 2.

During this 4½ day period, American Airlines is advising its passengers departing from Gates 40 and 42A at Terminal 4 to arrive at these gates an hour before departure time for busing to aircraft which will be parked away from its terminal.  Delta is advising its passengers departing from Gates 51B and 53A at Terminal 5 to do the same.  Both airlines will have agents on hand to help direct passengers.

American will temporarily close six gates on the east side of Terminal 4 and Delta will close five gates on the west side of Terminal 5.  The other gates in those terminals will remain in operation.

Taxilane C-9 needs to be repaved due to deep ruts developed during years of use by heavy aircraft.  The work has been planned for several months and is being scheduled during a slower time for both airlines when there are fewer flights.
