SWISS CELEBRATES FIRST BOEING 777-300ER LAX–ZURICH FLIGHT

(Los Angeles, California – June 10, 2016) SWISS, the flag carrier of Switzerland, celebrates the inaugural flight of its newest flagship Boeing 777-300ER on its Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) – Zurich route.

"We are excited that Swiss Airlines’ new “flagship” Boeing 777-300ER aircraft has now joined the LAX livery family, providing long haul service from Los Angeles to Zurich, Switzerland,” said Los Angeles World Airports Chief Executive Officer Deborah Flint. “The additional capacity and the airlines focus on customers’ air travel experience reflects our commitment to world class experience at LAX.”

“This is a milestone in the history of SWISS. With the new Boeing 777-300ER, we will be setting new benchmarks in terms of our customers’ inflight comfort and overall air travel experience. We are proud to share this accomplishment with local authorities, the LAX Port Authority and our Passengers”, said Patrick Heymann, Senior Director for the Americas.

The totally-redesigned cabin interior of the new SWISS flagship will offer the highest levels of comfort and aesthetics in all three seating classes. “Our First and Business Classes offer much more privacy, personal space with a modular sitting layout, and discretion. In First Class, guests can also enjoy interactive entertainment on a 32-in screen – the largest in the airline industry. All amenities, exclusive onboard meals, and services contribute to fully personalize the inflight experience”, Heymann added.

As a member of the Star Alliance and joint venture partner with United Airlines, SWISS will also be deploying the Boeing 777-300ER primarily on services from Miami to Switzerland in the summer of 2016 with several connections to many leisure destinations in Europe.
