CALTRANS PROJECT MAY CAUSE DELAYS NEAR LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (Los Angeles, California – February 13, 2017) Caltrans has notified Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) officials that inspection work in the Sepulveda Tunnel will close two of the three northbound lanes of Sepulveda Boulevard near LAX on Tuesday night, February 14, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15. The inspection work will shift to the southbound tunnel, with two of the three lanes leading away from LAX closed on Wednesday, February 15, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday, February 16. Airport officials recommend departing travelers plan ahead and allow more time for possible detours. Motorists heading toward LAX from the south and east can also use Century Boulevard to reach the Central Terminal Area on Tuesday night. Access to LAX is also available via the 96th Street bridge and from southbound Sepulveda Boulevard. On Wednesday night, motorists are encouraged to use Century Boulevard as an alternative to southbound Sepulveda Boulevard.
