Update #7 at 9:55 p.m. ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 29, 2017

Los Angeles World Airports greatly appreciates the patience and understanding of the traveling public as LAX responds and manages the demonstration at LAX today. In order to ensure the protestors’ civil rights to assemble peacefully and to help passengers, flight crews and airport workers reach the airline terminals, law enforcement and demonstration leaders negotiated a plan where traffic on the Upper and Lower Level roadways would alternate being fully open in 30-minute intervals. Demonstrators may block one level at a time for 15 minutes allowing the opposite level to be fully open for 30 minutes and allow traffic to flow. This situation will remain until the demonstrators fully disperse later tonight.

To be clear, when the Upper Level is blocked by demonstrators in front of the Tom Bradley international Terminal for 15 minutes, the Lower Level roadway will be fully open for 30 minutes. The situation then reverses.
