POSSIBLE DEMONSTRATION SCHEDULED FOR RIDESHARE AREA “A” MAY SLOW DOWN TRAFFIC AT LAX’S CENTRAL TERMINAL AREA ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 22, NOON TO 2 PM
(Los Angeles, CA – August 22, 2017) Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has learned of a demonstration scheduled to occur between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the Central Terminal Area (CTA) of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The demonstration is expected to occur in the vicinity of Rideshare Pick-Up & Drop-Off Area “A” on the Upper/Departures Level, located between Terminals 1 and 2.
LAWA encourages passengers traveling through LAX to give themselves extra time to get to and around the terminal area, in case of delay. LAWA also recommends that passengers being picked-up or dropped-off do so at the Lower/Arrivals level.
In general, during the morning and early afternoon hours, traffic on the Lower/Arrivals level often moves faster than the Upper/Departures level, and dropping off passengers at the Lower/Arrivals level can make a trip to LAX quicker and more convenient. Following drop-off at the Lower/Arrivals level, guests can simply take an escalator or elevator to the Upper/Departures level of their terminal.
As always, LAX encourages passengers to arrive at their terminal two hours before their boarding time for domestic flights and three hours before boarding times for international departures. This is to ensure that guests have plenty of time check-in, go through security, and arrive at their gate.
