LAWA Director of Airports Administration Paula Adams Awarded Prestigious "Muriel M. Morse Achievement Award" for Excellence in Human Resources Administration

(Los Angeles, CA) Today, Los Angeles World Airports’ (LAWA) Director of Airports Administration, Paula Adams, received the “Muriel M. Morse Achievement Award” from the Western Region Board of the International Public Management Association for Human Resources (WRIPMA-HR). The award, which is the Association’s highest honor, is awarded for those who exemplify the attributes and values predicated by Ms. Muriel M. Morse, who was known as an effective HR professional, a mentor, and a model of professionalism. The award was presented to Adams at a ceremony as part of the WRIMPA-HR’s Annual Conference in Sacramento, California.

Adams oversees Airports Administration for both LAWA airports, Los Angeles International (LAX) and Van Nuys general aviation (VNY) airports, managing its Human Resources Division, Risk Management Division, and
Adams has also been active throughout professional organizations in her field, serving on the Board of Directors for the Southern California Public Management Association – Human Resources (SCPMA-HR) in 2011, and has served on Airport Council International-North America’s Human Resources Steering Group since 2016. She has also served as an executive for SCPMA-HR since 2011. She was also received several “Outstanding Service” awards, from Los Angeles City Employees Asian American Association (2014), the Los Angeles Filipino Association of City Employees (2010), and the Los Angeles Municipal Accountants and Auditors Association (2010). Adams also received the Los Angeles Association of Black Personnel’s “Trailblazer Award” in 2012.
Adams holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and is currently working towards earning her philosophy doctorate in Human Resources.
