Los Angeles World Airports is Transforming the Future with AMAC

Registration now open for the 35th Annual AMAC
Airport Business Diversity Conference

(Los Angeles, CA) The Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) and Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) are pleased to announce that registration is now open for AMAC’s 35th Annual Airport Business Diversity Conference: Transforming the Future of Airports. The conference will be held at the JW Marriott in Downtown Los Angeles from August 20 to 23, 2019. This highly acclaimed conference is AMAC’s flagship event – serving as a hub for education, advocacy and networking opportunities that promote diversity and inclusion in airports.

“Creating a world-class airport experience for all size airports requires reimaging airport technology, security, construction and concessions,” said Deborah Flint, CEO, LAWA. “AMAC’s annual Airport Business Diversity Conference brings together a diverse array of leaders who are moving the aviation industry forward. Los Angeles World Airports is proud to host AMAC’s 2019 conference, a reflection of our mission to serve the world, connecting people, places and cultures.”

“We are proud to support diversity in the aviation industry and are excited about this opportunity to bring together airport operators, government officials, corporations and minority, women, and disadvantaged business enterprises from around the country to Los Angeles,” said Krystal J. Brumfield, AMAC President & CEO.

AMAC is the only national, non-profit trade association dedicated to advancing the full participation of minorities and women in employment and contracting opportunities throughout the aviation and aerospace industries. The 2019 conference will bring together more than 1,000 businesses, aviation professionals, government officials and individuals from around the country to hear from industry leaders on topics that include current trends in airport technology and innovation, public policy issues impacting the industry, best practices in construction, retail and guest experience and information on how to do business with airports. The programming addresses the diverse interests of the conference audience, presented by dynamic speakers who share AMAC’s mission and vision.

About Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
LAX, the sixth-busiest airport in the world serving nearly 66 million guests in 2022, is owned and operated by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), a proprietary, revenue-generating department of the City of Los Angeles that also governs Van Nuys Airport (VNY). As the international gateway to the Southern California region, LAX and its partners are dedicated to meeting global airport standards for customer satisfaction, safety, regional economic leadership, organizational performance and sustainability.

To better serve the millions of domestic and international guests that travel through LAX each year, the airport is undergoing a multi-billion-dollar capital improvement program to modernize its entire campus. Initiatives underway include an Automated People Mover, a Consolidated Rental Car Facility and two projects that will each add over one million square feet to the airport's existing property: Terminal 9 and Concourse 0.
